Little Village Chamber of Commerce 26th Street Mexican Indepenence Day Parade
We are getting ready for a magnificent celebration to commemorate the bicentennial of Mexico's Independence. Corporations, businesses and government agencies participate in the parade demonstrating its great marketing mechanism.
Join us and be part of our traditional Independence Day Parade along 26th Street where history, culture and identity become one. This parade attracts over 450,000 live spectators and over a million consumers that tune in for the television broadcast. Que Viva México!
Nos estamos preparando para celebrar por todo lo alto, el bicentenario de la Independencia de México.
El domingo 12 de Septiembre se llevará a cabo nuestro desfile anual con motivo de La Independencia de México. La Cámara de Comercio de La Villita invita a organizaciones y al público en general a ser parte de éste magno evento donde se combinan historia, una cultura rica y un ambiente festivo. El desfile atrae a más de 450,000 espectadores y a más de un millon de televidentes. ¡Que Viva México!

Fiestas Patrias Ambassador Scholarship Banquet
This event initiates our celebration of the Mexican Independence and acknowledges bright students with scholarship awards through the Little Village Chamber of Commerce Ambassador Scholarship Fund. We have successfully raised over $450,000.00 for Hispanic students in Little Village and surrounding Chicago communities.
The Ambassador Scholarships program awards students who are currenlty enrolled at a four-year University or a Community College; or those high school graduates who will be continuing their education for the fall term of 2010.
Con éste evento iniciamos la celebración de La Independencia de México y reconocemos a estudiantes brillantes con becas por medio del Fondo de Becas Escolares de La Cámara de Comercio de La Villita. Hemos otorgado más de $450,000.00 a estudiantes Hispanos de La Villita y comunidades vecinas.
Estas becas se otorgan a estudiantes que actualmente se encuentran inscritos en una universidad de 4 años o colegio comunitario, o a aquellos jóvenes que cursan el último año de preparatoria (high school) y planean continuar su educación universitaria para el otoño del 2010.

Festival de La Villita 2010 is a vibrant and colorful celebration that will take place from September 10th to the 12th. From delicious Mexican dishes to arts and crafts, this festival has something special for every family member. Come and join us for a weekend of food, games for the kids and entertainment.
El Festival de La Villita 2010 es un evento más de las Fiestas Patrias del mes de Septiembre. Familias de La Villita y barrios circundantes tendrán la oportunidad de disfrutar y celebrar junto con sus familias y amigos. En éste evento habrá comida típica y deliciosa de México, juegos y actividades de carnaval, música en vivo de grupos del área de Chicago así como artistas internacionales.

Health care experts will be conducting screenings. In addition, businesses along 26th Street will have an annual sales event. Get ready and buy your back to school gear! We encourage our entire community to participate!
Expertos del sector salud estarán haciendo revisiones médicas. También los negocios de la calle 26 tendrán una venta de banquete donde ofrecerán productos a excelentes precios. La Villita "El Grito" Celebration
Lets commemorate 200 years of Independence and shout a unison "Viva Mexico." We will kick off our celebration with a Noche Mexicana. Bring family and friends for an evening of authentic Mexican dishes, folkloric dances - the perfect representation of culture and traditions- and lots of entertainment. Our celebration will conclude with the traditional "Grito de Independencia."
Festejemos 200 años de independencia y digámos a una sola voz "Viva México." En ésta celebración tendremos una Noche Mexicana en donde tendrá la oportunidad de traer a familiares y amigos a disfrutar de platillos típicos, bailes folklóricos, una diga representación cultural, y mucho entretenimiento. El día concluirá con el tradicional "Grito de Independencia."
